Evgeny,
Judy Knox and Matts Myhrman once again! Catherine Wanek of Black Range
in New Mexico has suggested that we need to encourage you and other
colleagues to come to the International Straw-Bale Gathering on March 5,
6, 7, 1999 in San Francisco, California.

We agree completely! There will be straw-bale construction people there
from all over the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Mexico and
other countries. We all would be inspired to meet you and have you show
and tell us IN PERSON of your success stories of straw-bale construction
in Belarus.

Our question is, how can we support you in being able to come? I feel
sure we can at least see that you are lodged and fed while here, as well
as arrange for you to meet others and see other places in the western
United States. Please respond and let us know what might be possible.

Judy Knox and Matts Myhrman

Actually, straw-bale is alive and well with UNDP in Mongolia. The fire in
the clinic just alerted UNDP to real problems of quality control in
auxillary systems - PV, wiring, heating and the like. The next phase of
the program will focus on building capacity in professionals, construction
companies and figuring out financing. Big challenges ahead. I'm thrilled
to hear straw-bale growing so quickly in Russia. Who is the market? What
structural systems? What are you doing with heating? I'd love to see some
interaction between Russian and Mongolia.
