Subject: SB "Radio" Cybercast Wednesday

I was contacted on Friday by Tami Michaels, the host of a cybercast radio
show at http://www.thecyberstation.com ... a sort of talk-radio home-show
program broadcast over the internet. A person can listen - and meanwhile,
on the screen, pictures and links pop up that are related to what's being
discussed. Kinda weird. She indicated that the website was getting on the
order of a million hits a month, or some insane number like that. (A
counter is conspicuously absent.) That doesn't mean, however, that anywhere
near a million people listen to the shows. What it does mean, though, is
that there's a world-wide audience potential in real time and full audio
nuance (as opposed to impersonal email or web pages), and that could be
very, very good.

She wanted to do a half-hour on straw-bale construction with me. Instead,
I think I've got her talked her into an hour with more than just me.
Whether or not they drag in any or all of the people I supplied names,
phone numbers, email addresses, and hype for is out of my hands. I
certainly hope that folks like Judy Knox & Matts Myhrman, Athena & Bill
Steen, David Eisenberg, and others, will be involved. However, as far as I
know, none of the people I supplied info for have been contacted. (I warned
most of them, I think.) Maybe it happened this afternoon.

The show is confirmed for Wednesday. For most of you reading this, that's
tomorrow. The website says that it starts at 2PM EST. They said they'll
call me at 11:30AM PST, 12:30PM MST. Check the time zone map for your local
time equivalent and guess your best. To hear the show, a person will have
to go to the website at http://www.thecyberstation.com , download the
MicroSoft Media Player Plug-in and install it on their browser (if it's not
already in there; new versions of Internet Explorer come with it already
loaded), and sign up for the free service. None of this costs anything. It
took me a bit less than a half-hour do these things and explore the site a
bit. (Other benefits of signing up include free email service, free website
hosting, and free chat rooms [maybe useful for ongoing real-time SB chats,
eh? Anybody want to organize that idea?]).

Their website doesn't appear to have an audio archive. I'll be trying to
figure out how to make this available from a streaming audio archive, or on
audiotape, for those who want to hear it but are busy at real jobs. At the
least, a transcript would be nice if it turns into the kind of bigwig
shindig I'm hoping it will.

I believe this is a call-in affair as well. Anybody wanna call and harass
me out in front of a global audience? :)

Subject: Address Correction

I've been told that my address was listed incorrectly in the CASBA
Conference directory as 2110 South 3rd Street. The correct addressis
2110 South 33rd Street, Lincoln NE 68506-6001.

Thanks,
