GSBN:GSBN roll call: Bainbridge

First - thanks to all who maintain and participate in GSBN.

My interest in green building goes back to my graduate school days in Davis California (1970) and early work on neighborhood planning, street design and passive solar. Although I am most commonly known for straw bale building information I actually was first and foremost a passive solar heating and cooling specialist (water walls, integral water heaters and natural cooling).

I gave up resisting the perverse incentives against renewable energy in 1981 with my last solar house design and after a 10 year affair with sb (1985-1995) most of my recent research work (1986-2001) has been in environmental restoration. I teach environmental restoration, environmental economics, sustainable resource management and environmental law at USIU in San Diego. My newest crusade is on ecocomposite (http://www.ecocomposite.com) materials.

International Design Magazine honored my work in 2001.

Cheers to you all and hope to meet more of you down the trail.
