I would second all that the King has said. The relationship between volume and value in a list seems to me to form a bell curve. Too much volume and I just can't keep up, regardless of quality.

There has been much conversation in and about the straw bale listservs, to
the extent that I'm ready to abandon both.

Still, I'll weigh in with a vote:  open GSBN archives, but not active
membership, to any and all.
