Howdy, world -

There has been much conversation in and about the straw bale listservs, to
the extent that I'm ready to abandon both.

Still, I'll weigh in with a vote: open GSBN archives, but not active
membership, to any and all.

I would second all that the King has said. The relationship between
volume and value in a list seems to me to form a bell curve. Too
much volume and I just can't keep up, regardless of quality.

Cheers,

Paul

Subject: Contact with Argentinian student made

Hi All,
I've contacted the student who wrote and given him local contact info for
the SB clinic in Argentina (Tucuman). All is well here. I'm up to my elbows
in earth plasters and fantastic finishes in my own remodel (earth plaster
over sheet rock - recycling, insulating and revitalizing a wood frame house
in El Cerrito). Two weeks in China this December was fruitful - over 300
houses built this past summer and growing (though sometimes still
unfathomable) understanding among our partners and builders. I was freezing
in Harbin (-25 to -30 C) while many of you where cooking in Australia. When
my remodeling project is farther along, I promise picture of China and
fabulous earth finishes on the SB-r-us site (end of Feb. or so). Happy
Chinese New Year to you all!

Kelly
