I got in contact with a project of VALENCIA, Spain called ECO-RICE. I suppose that the project is similar what you're doing in France: Searching alternatives of the burning of rice. We put ECO-Rice in contact with a huge project that will be build in World Exposition 2008 in Zaragoza. We're not participating there, but perhaps your friend is interested in contact with ECO-RICE.
The phone-number is 961610021...I don't remember the name of the person, sorry.

Thanks John, John, Paul and David for your help.
Don't hesitate (anyone) to sent more if at some point in time you
stumble on other uses/info as this research is at its very early stages.
